Basket Weaving

General supply list for students to bring – but please check individual class descriptions!

  • Several clothes pins (a dozen should do)
  • Small flat screwdriver
  • Sturdy sharp scissors
  • Small needle nose pliers
  • Measuring tape
  • Utility knife (box blade)
  • Pencil
  • Old towel
  • Plastic washing tub or canning stock pot (about sink size) to soak reed and basket

Small Berry Picking Basket
Saturday, April 28, 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Beginners and experienced weavers alike can make this splint woven basket.  It is woven with the start and stop method for every row.

Ribbed Melon Basket
Saturday, May 19, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

This is a beginner level basket weaving class for everyone aged 16 and up, but the technique may be new to those who have some experience, too!  Learn the ribbed basket weaving method with God’s eye lashing.  We will use two 8″ hoops – one for the rim and one for the handle.
