And now my customized version. Now that I have pictures, I’m going to inflict a lot of them on you!
Just a quick summary of the differences: I changed the hood, from pointy to rounded. My sweater is a bit longer, and enough wider in the front that the cabled bands will overlap. Changes that are less obvious to the casual viewer, but are critical to a knitter, are its seamless raglan construction, with sleeves knit in the round instead of back and forth. Oh, one more picture… fastened with a bronze penannular brooch. The interlace pattern on the brooch echoes the cables on the sweater. Maybe I’m the only one who will notice that, but it’s one of those small details that I like.
Make that two more pictures: a closeup of the hood.
I am starting to believe that spring may actually come again. It’s warm, the sun is shining, and the birds are back. Not that this is the end of winter. Kansas is one of those places where you NEVER bet on what the weather will be tomorrow. Or tonight, for that matter… which may partly explain my fondness for this particular sweater!
I’m in love with your arwen. I’m just beginning. I love the raglan. I admire that you were able to change the pattern, something that I hope to be able to do eventually with my knitting, take control! I like raglans much better than other sleeve options.
Beautiful sweater!
